Report and dashboard security

Internally, Birst stores each space's reports and dashboards in a set of folders called the Report Catalog. The Report Catalog has a shared folder that allows authors to save reports and dashboards for use by other space members. The space administrator can grant or revoke read and edit permissions on sub-folders and on individual reports and dashboards in the shared folder. In addition to the shared folder, each user has a private folder that only they and the space administrator can access.

For example, a user with dashboard access can save dashboards in their private folder. If a user wants to share a dashboard, the user can save it to the shared folder where all users of the space can see it.
