Preparing to use Birst
To use Birst for business intelligence projects, you first use the Admin module to connect to and load data sources, model data relationships, process data, and manage users and security. After this setup is completed, you will be ready to use Visualizer or Designer to create report charts and tables. Then use the Dashboards or Dashboards 2.0 to publish the reports to dashboards.

- Optionally, create scripted sources using Birst ETL Services (advanced spaces only)
- Create groups for users and assign permissions.

security and user access:
- Set up report and dashboard security.
- Set up data-level security.
- Optionally, create custom subject areas.
- Create reports in Designer or Visualizer.
- Design dashboards using reports, KPIs, text boxes, and filters.
- Go mobile.
