Navigating Dashboards
There are different ways to guide business users through multiple dashboards.
Dashboards Drawer
You can access the Dashboard Drawer and click on a dashboard's name to open it.
The Dashboard Drawer is also where you manage and organize one or more dashboards for a space. You can drag and drop the dashboards into the hierarchy you prefer. This same hierarchy is reflected in the dashboards breadcrumbs.
The first dashboard listed in the first collection is the default dashboard that opens when users access Dashboards 2.0.
Dashboard Breadcrumbs
Dashboard breadcrumbs follow the hierarchy you set up in the Dashboard Drawer. Users can navigate between collections and individual dashboards using the pulldown menus.
Drill-Across Dashboards
Designer or Visualizer reports, images, KPIs, and buttons can be configured to open another dashboard when the user clicks the dashlet item. This is called a drill-across link and is visually indicated by a icon.
Things to note about drill-across links:
- You configure these links at the dashlet level.
- Text areas and embedded websites cannot use a drill-across link.
- Drill-across links can pass filters or conditional display configurations as parameters. Chart reports can also pass column values.
Hiding Dashboards
You can hide a dashboard so that it does not display in the drawer or breadcrumbs. In this scenario a user can only access a dashboard by following a drill-across link.
