Configuring workflow triggers in Orchestration

You can link an Orchestration Workflow to a Space to initiate the start of a Notification.

When you configure a workflow trigger and subscribe a space to the trigger, you can use that trigger for notifications in that space. Later, when you create a notification in Dashboards or in Space Management, you can set that notification schedule based on a workflow trigger for the subscribed space.

  1. From Orchestration, select your workflow from the Workflow list.
  2. Click Actions for that workflow.
  3. Select Workflow Trigger from the Actions menu.
  4. Specify the trigger information in the Configure Workflow Trigger panel:
    Trigger Label
The label or name for the trigger.
    Trigger Description
Add a description of the trigger and any workflow-related details, such as schedule and data sets that are available upon completion. This field is optional.
    Space
Select the space you want to subscribe to this trigger. When you select a space, this trigger becomes available to be used on this specific space. Click the Spaces icon to display the Spaces panel where you can search and select the space to subscribe.
Note: You can select only one space per trigger.
  5. Click Done to add the workflow trigger. Optionally, you can click + to create a new workflow trigger. You can also click Remove Trigger to remove the trigger from the workflow.
The Done and Remove Trigger buttons become available only when Trigger Label and the Space are specified.
The workflow trigger is activated when the last step of the workflow is completed, such as:
    • If the entire workflow completes successfully, the trigger is initiated
    • If only the final step of the workflow is successful, the trigger is initiated
Note: If only partial steps succeed but not the last, the trigger is not initiated.
