Updating a custom application

You can update the Application Description and Birst Content Version of a custom application at any time with the Update Application option.

All other parameters are displayed in a read-only mode.

The Birst Content Version field shows the current version by default.

You can only increment the version. If you select a lower version, the Save button is disabled.

After you publish the Custom Application, the Assign Resource button remains disabled until the Birst Content Version is incremented through the Update Application option.

Note:  You can delete a custom application only if it is not linked to a Global Package namespace.

You can update the user role group type in custom application only when there is no space type resource in an application.

To update the user role group type in a custom application:

  1. Select Admin > Application Management > Custom Application > Update Application.

  2. In Update Application, the User Role Group Type field enables if no space type resource is attached to the custom application. Users can choose either space group or account groups.

  3. If a space type resource is attached, the User Role Group Type field disables and users cannot change the option.

Resources for Version Change parameter update

You can update the version of already versioned resources in the Birst Content Version field.

  1. Select Application Management UI > Custom Application > More Options > Update Application.
  2. On the Resources for Version Change tab, select the resources to update.
  3. Click Save.

You can select or deselect previously versioned resources in the list.

Selected resources are preserved even if other fields, such as Birst Content Version, are modified.

The version is updated only for resources that you select at the time of export.

Note: After you publish an application, the resources that are marked for the version update are automatically refreshed.
