Space Properties

Select Space Management > Space Properties. The General tab and Advanced tab display configuration options.

Note: You need a Birst Enterprise License to access both tabs. Contact Infor Support or an administrator for more details.

The system sets the name that is specified during creation. Pause on the name and select the Edit icon to change it.

Note: Do not use ampersands (&) in space names.

General tab properties:

Id
The unique identifier that was generated when the space was created. It cannot be changed. The format xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx where x is a hexadecimal value (0-9, a-f). The identifier is used for Web Services and SSO embedding.
Type
The field displays the space type: Automatic, Advanced, or Discovery.
Logo Image
This field displays in the top-left corner of Home, Admin, and Designer pages. Select Browse, upload a new image and with Clear option user can delete the logo image.
Email
These fields set default email address and subject for new scheduled reports. Existing schedules must be updated manually.
Process Engine Version
This field controls how source data is processed. It can be updated through drop down or Web Services methods. Always test before upgrading.
Enable Single-Sign-On
It enables to embed Birst in external applications. After enabling, click Generate Password for SSO.
Production Space
It enables production-specific features such as metric tracking.
Infor Document Management
It creates Birst document types in IDM for notifications and it generates reports or dashboards in IDM and sends email alerts.
Enable Prep Source
It enables creation of prep sources for drag-and-drop data transformations, such as merge, filter, split, etc.
Gen AI
It controls GenAI features. It includes child permissions for Visualization Editor and Insight Summaries. It requires BirstAI active at account level.
Processing Time Zone
It sets time zone for input files. It requires sign out and sign in after changes.
Comments
It editable notes entered during space creation.

Advanced tab properties:

Maximum # of records returned from a Query
The default is set to 10,000 and it can be increased up to 500,000. It does not apply to Live Access queries.
Maximum # of failed records allowed
The default is set to 0. Set a threshold to fail processing if exceeded.
Maximum query time
The default is set to is 300 seconds in Cloud. It cannot be changed in Cloud, it is configurable in Appliance environments.
Min/Max Years
It is a restrict time filters to match reporting requirements for efficiency.
Always On
It ensures high availability during processing by creating a shadow space. It requires additional resources and add-on feature.
Store Cloud Connector Config in Mongo
It stores connector configuration in MongoDB instead of XML.
Convert Space to Metadata Infrastructure
It upgrades space for multi-admin support. Requires Process Engine 5.22+.
Push Down Expressions to Database

It evaluates report expressions in the database for accuracy and performance. It is enabled by default.

Note: It is disabled for Smart Insights.
As Navigates
It enables advanced Visualizer reporting. It requires account-level activation.
Lock Packages
It prevents deletion or modification of packages in parent and child spaces. Recommended for production.
Automatically set date columns as “Analyze by Date”
It marks imported date columns for analysis.
Usage Tracking
It enables usage tracking features such as orchestration tasks.
Allow usage statistics extracts
It enables extraction of usage statistics for reports and dashboards. Only account admins can run statistics.
Use Dynamic Groups for Access
It enables dynamic user-group management through uploaded tables. Static groups can still be created if enabled.
Map Nulls to Zero in Queries
It converts null values to zero in queries for data modelling.
Asynchronous Reporting
It improves performance by using queuing infrastructure for extractions and scheduled reports.
Centralized Context and Query Cache
It improves consistency and load times by caching repository and queries.
Test Mode
It limits processing to 10,000 rows.
External Notifications
It enables notifications to be sent to users and email addresses.
Model Metadata Size
It displays metadata size of the data model.
Metadata Builder Version
It displays Builder Version. Contact support to update.
Column Level Security
It controls column visibility in reports based on user permissions.
Email Export Threshold (# of cells)
It is set to 50,000 cells by default, and it can be increased up to 500,000.
Bulk Import BATCHSIZE
It is set to 204,800 by default. It must be a multiple of 102,400 and it applies only to SQL Server spaces.
