Space management in Admin

You can use Space management in Admin to manage all options and settings for a space.

When you select a space in the Spaces list, Space Management displays all available settings and features for that space.

On this page you can perform these actions:

  • Space Membership

    Space Admins can manage users in the space.

  • Space Groups

    Group space members can assign or edit permissions to features in the space.

  • Add Account Groups

    Space Administrators can add account groups to a space. All users in the group gain access to the space and share assigned permissions.

  • Report Catalog

    Report catalog displays folders and files that store dashboards and Designer or Visualizer reports. Birst stores all files and folders.

  • Subject Area

    Subject area defines information that users can access when they view or create reports.

  • Notifications

    Notifications displays all notifications in the space for administrators.

  • Drill Maps

    Drill maps configure navigation between logical columns to support drill-down actions for multiple users.

  • Localization

    Localization manages translations for Visualizer and Dashboard items in multilingual environments.

  • Security Filters

    Security filters define row-level filters that use existing variables or custom BQL.

  • Manage Variables
    Manage Variables create custom variables for:
    • Reports and dashboards
    • Data security filters
    • Birst Connect queries
    • Application Connector queries
  • View Processed Data

    View processed data runs queries on processed data within Space Management.

  • Query Admin

    Query admin runs BQL queries for the space.

  • Custom Attributes & Measures

    Custom attributes and measures create new columns that use existing attributes or measures.

  • Aggregates

    Aggregates use pre-aggregated data to improve query performance.

  • Packages

    Packages share metadata between parent and child spaces to support managed data mashups.

  • Command Window

    Command window runs administrative commands for user provisioning and space management.

  • Space Properties

    Space properties change space-level settings that apply to the entire space.

  • Schedule Data Processing

    Schedule data processing displays and manages scheduled processing jobs for the space.

  • Spaces Overview

    Spaces overview enables account administrators to view all spaces and their details. Use Previous and Next to navigate or use Download as CSV to export the full list.

Note:  A Birst account administrator must add new users to an account before they can be added to a space or space group.
