Managing measures in multi-measure charts

When you add multiple measures in the Visualizer, you can control how the chart shows the data. Use the available display options to organize and compare measures based on your analysis requirements.

You can:
  • Isolate individual measures for focused analysis
  • Group all measures in a single chart view
  • Create custom groups to compare related metrics side by side.

Isolating a measure

  1. Click the Edit icon next to the measure.
  2. Select Isolate from the menu.
  3. Edit each isolated section independently because the measure is displayed in a separate section.
  4. To remove isolation, click the Edit icon next to the isolated measure, and select Group All. The chart returns to a single combined view.

Custom measure grouping

You can create custom groups when a chart contains four or more measures and at least two measures are isolated. Custom groups help you compare related measures without duplicating charts.

Creating a group

  1. Isolate the measures that you want to include in the group.
  2. Select the required measures, and then create a new group
  3. Specify a group name, for example Financial KPIs. The chart updates immediately.

Managing groups

  1. Create multiple groups in the same chart. Each measure can belong to only one group.
  2. Rename a group, add measures, or remove measures at any time.
    Note: When you delete a group, the measures in the group return to an isolated state. When you select Group All, all custom groups are removed, and the chart returns to a single combined view.

Example:

With measures, such as: Sales, Profit, Discount, and Quantity:

  • Financial KPIs → Sales + Profit
  • Operational KPIs → Discount + Quantity

Custom groups, names, and member assignments are saved with the chart and restored when the report is reopened.
