Impact Flow

The Impact Flow module is available in Data Tools. The module is available to admin users by default. Non-admin users can access the module after an administrator grants access.

The Impact Flow module helps maintain a clean space, prevent content issues during changes, and ensure that end users access correct reports and dashboards.

The Impact Flow shows how data elements, such as Measures, Attributes, reports and dashboards are interconnected across reports, dashboards, and other BI assets. The Impact Flow supports transparency and traceability of data elements by showing forward and backward relationships between components.

As an administrator, you can:

  • Understand relationships and dependencies
  • Identify impacts of data changes across reports and dashboards
  • Improve data governance and troubleshooting
Note:  Impact Flow shows relationships between elements, but it does not change data. You cannot rename or edit columns, reports, or dashboards in the canvas.
