Creating the analytics widget chart

You can add the Analytics widget to your workspace and then configure its query, chart options, and chart type.

Note: To use widgets in Infor OS Portal, you must create a workspace where you can manage your widgets. See the Using workspaces and Widgets sections in the Infor OS User and Administration Documentation Library (Cloud) documentation.
  1. Click the navigation menu icon.
  2. Select your workspace from the Workspaces section.
  3. Click + Add Widget. The Widget Catalog is displayed.
  4. Select and add the Visual Analytics from the Widget Catalog. Use the Search field to search for the widget.
  5. Click Configure Widget.
  6. Select Birst as the product in the Select Product window and then click Next.
  7. Select your Content Application and then click Next.
The content applications are set up by the content teams for other Infor products, such as M3 Analytics. The applications available vary by customer.
If you created a custom application in Application Management with a consumer space resource, you can set it as your widget's content application. This way, your widget can use that content application's space.
  8. Copy and paste your query from Visualizer into the Query field in the Enter Query window.
  9. Click Validate to validate your query and then click Next. Validating your query verifies that the query syntax is correct and that the elements in the query exist.
Note: You must validate your query before you can create your widget. The Next button is not enabled until your query has successfully been validated. Validating your query does not validate if data exists for your query, only that the syntax is correct. If your query has an error, the application displays a message with the problem syntax in the query. Fix your error(s) and re-validate your query to continue.
You can click Copy to copy your query or you can click Reset to reset the query field.
  10. Click Next. The Widget Configuration window is displayed. The chart configuration options are displayed as tabs you can use to setup your widget.
  11. Click the Edit icon at the top of the window to name the widget. Specify the Widget Name and the Widget Subtitle, then click OK.
  12. Configure your widget in the configuration tabs such as Chart Type, Chart Setup, Chart Mode, Chart Options, and Hyperlinks.
Note: Additional configuration options are displayed depending on the Chart Type you select. See Additional chart configurations by type for more information.
  13. Click Finish.
