Global properties in dashboards

You can use global properties to customize the look of all dashboards in a space.

Applying Style

Select a style to use from the dropdown list to apply to all dashlets. If you do not want to apply a style, select Default.

Applying Background Images to Dashboards

Select a file to display as a background image in dashboard pages if desired. Click the browse button to select an image file. Then click the Upload button to upload the image.

Applying Background Images to Dashboards Using URLs

Type a URL to an image you would like displayed on the background of dashboard pages.

Applying Background Colors to Dashboard Frames

Select the background color to use for the rectangle.

Selecting Fonts for Dashboard Tabs

Select the font, style and point size to use on dashboard and page tab labels.

Selecting Font Colors for Dashboard Labels and Tabs

Select the color of the font to use for inactive dashboard tabs, inactive dashboard pages, and the selected dashboard tab and page.

Note: You can type or paste a hex color value in the color picker to choose a color that is not shown in the color picker.

Changing Colors of Dashboard Tabs

Select the colors to use for the background of inactive dashboard tabs and the background of the active dashboard tab. To use a gradient for the background of inactive dashboard tabs, select two colors.

Changing Height of Dashboard Tabs

Select the size in points you would like to use for the height of dashboard tabs.

Applying Roundness to Dashboard Tab Frames

Select a number to determine the roundness of a dashboard tab. The higher the number, the more rounded the tab corners.

Adding Transparency to Dashboard Tabs

Select a number between 0 and 1 to set the transparency of a dashboard tab. 1 is the least transparent. 0 is completely transparent.

Applying Gaps Between Dashboard Tabs

Select a number to determine the gap or spacing between dashboard tabs. The default is -1.

Changing Dashboard Page Tab Height

Select the size in points you would like to use for the height of dashboard page tabs.

Enabling Dashboard Sticky Notes

Select to allow dashboard users to create sticky notes. If this box is checked, select either Private Sticky Notes Only to allow users to create sticky notes just for themselves or Private or Public Sticky Notes to allow users to share them with all other dashboard users.

Enabling Bookmarks

Use to select a bookmark to apply to the dashboard page. You can also designate a bookmark as the default bookmark for the dashboard page here. If enabled, these fields are used:

Naming Dashboard Bookmarks
The names of each bookmark saved for the dashboard page are listed here.
Dashboard Bookmarks Creation Date
This is the date and time each bookmark was created.
Setting Default Bookmarks for Dashboards
Click if you would like to make this bookmark the default bookmark for the dashboard page.

Show Dashboard Search Field

Check to display the Search box at the top right part of the Dashboard screen to enable users to search dashboard pages.

Auto Apply Default Bookmark to Dashboards

Check this box to apply the default bookmark (if one is assigned) when opening a dashboard page.

Editing Dashboard Summary Font

Select the font, style point size and color to use for the prompt summary.

Applying Transparency to Dashboard Backgrounds

Select a number between 0 and 1 to set the transparency of dashboard prompts. 1 is the least transparent. 0 is completely transparent.

Changing the Location of Dashboard Labels

Select whether to display the prompt label on the top or the left.

Displaying Dashboard Collections in Separate Rows

Check to display each prompt on a separate row in the prompt pane.

Displaying Collection Frames

Check to display filter prompts with a frame and title bar button that can collapse the collection.

Minimizing Dashboard Prompts at Start

Check to display prompts minimized when a dashboard is loaded.

Use Dashboard Prompts Default Values on Page Reset

Check to reset variables that are updated by prompts to their default values when the user resets the dashboard page.

Changing Dashboard Header Fonts

Select the font, style, point size and color to use for dashlet header labels.

Changing Dashboard Header Colors

Select the color(s) to use for the background of the dashlet headers. To display a gradient background, select two different colors.

Changing Height of Dashlets

Specify the height in points to use for dashlet headers.

Changing Dashboard Title Position

Select whether to display the dashlet title centered in the dashlet header or on the left side of the dashlet header.

Maximizing or Minimizing Dashlet Windows

Check to add an icon to the top right corner of the dashlet header to maximize or minimize the dashlet window.

If you choose not to display this icon, the user can still maximize or minimize the dashlet window by double-clicking the dashlet header.

Show Dashlet Export Icons

Check to display icons in dashlet headers for the various dashlet controls such as the pivot control, export to PDF, CSV, Excel, PowerPoint, schedule report, and edit report.

Deselect to display a gear icon in the dashlet header which opens a dropdown menu when clicked containing the dashlet controls that have been enabled.
