Notifications overview

With Notifications, you can send regularly scheduled emails with an attachment of a single report or entire dashboard. Notifications show a snapshot of the report at the time the notification is created. Notifications are listed in the Notification Center which can be accessed in Space Management > Notifications, in Designer, in Visualizer, and in Dashboards.

Note: Even though you can access notifications in multiple areas of the application, the Notifications form is the same.

Space administrators can access a list of all notifications created in Report Scheduler, Designer, Dashboards, Visualizer, and Dashlets. Space Administrators can also set up report bursting and exception reporting. The creator of a notification can view and edit their notifications. Non-administrators cannot edit notifications that they are not the owner or creator of, but they can see a view-only version of the notification.

Note: Only Designer notifications can be edited and created through Notifications in Space Management. Visualizer and Dashboard notifications are visible but can only be edited through the Visualizer and Dashboard modules. Visualizer reports are scheduled in Dashboards.

To give users permission to schedule reports in Designer, Visualizer, and in Dashboards, select Enable Self-Scheduling in Group Permissions.
