Saving a Visualizer report

  1. Click Save. If it is the first time to save the report, the File Navigator opens.
Note: From a dashboard, you can save a new version of a Visualizer report by clicking Dashlet Actions and selecting Save As.
  2. Select either a Private or Share folder in the left column.
  3. Specify a name for the Visualizer report in the text box.
  4. Click Save. After a visualization report is saved, it can be saved to the dashboard.

Visualizer saves the report with a .viz.dashlet file name extension to the selected folder location. It then closes the Report Navigator and displays the name of the report in the menu bar. The report stays open and ready for more modifications.

Here are some things to consider about saving reports:

  • Visualizer reports in the private folder will not be accessible to other users.
  • To allow other users to access a Visualizer report when sharing a space, save the report to the shared folder.
  • The report name must be unique within a folder.
  • Folders that have been created in both Designer and Visualizer are displayed here although only Visualizer reports are individually listed. Reports created in Designer can only be opened from the Designer module.
  • A Visualizer report cannot be moved to a different folder from within the Visualizer module. With the 5.27 release, you can create, rename or delete folders in Visualizer. Space Administrators can still move reports to different folders and create and delete folders using Admin - Manage Access - Manage Report Catalog.
  • Hover over the name of the report to see the path of the report.
  • To start fresh with a new visualization click Reset.
