Dashlet properties

Use this dialog box to set properties for the dashlet. A dashlet can contain a Designer report (adhoc or AdhocReport), a Visualizer report (viz or viz.dashlet) or external visualization (web site). The dashlet properties are different depending upon the type of report. See the table below for definitions in option in Dashlet Properties.

Note: Depending on the property, you may select whether to display icons or a menu for dashlet controls in the dashlet header in the Dashlets tab of the Global Properties dialog box.
Dashlet Properties Options Definition
Apply prompt if adding prompt filter results in valid query Select to have Birst apply the prompt to the dashlet even if the column is not included in the report's query as a dim column, measure, or filter. If adding the prompt results in a valid query within the system, Birst automatically applies the filter. This can greatly reduce setup time to get reports to interact with Original Dashboard prompts.
Description Mode Using description mode, instead of immediately rendering the report in the dashlet, the dashlet displays some text with a link that initiates rendering. You can specify some of the text that users see, to give context to the report.
Enable Column Selectors Select to display a list field with a pre-selected list of attributes or measures for the user to choose from.
Enable CSV

Select to enable the dashlet to be exported to a CSV file. If selected, an icon or menu item for CSV displays in the dashlet header.

Alternatively, you can select Current State to Excel to export only the current state of the table without collapsed sections.

The dashboard user can click the Visualizer icon to open the report in Visualizer, do data exploration, then close Visualizer and go back to the dashboard.
