Filtering dashboards

Dashboards have standard or embedded filters so that you can explore subsets data. This table shows how to use filtering on a dashboard:

Standard filters Click the Filters icon. The filters that are available depend on the dashboard setup.

Some standard filters are set up as hierarchical groups. You can toggle them on or off. For example, on Retail Store Location, you can filter on Retailer Country.

Traverse filter groups to view the levels in the hierarchy.

Clear filters To clear filters, click the slider. In a dashboard, when a filter is cleared, it maintains its state, but it is not applied to the dashboard.
Hide filters To hide the filter drawer without applying new filters, click on the Filters menu button again.
Filter cards Filter cards for the filters that you select are displayed on the dashboard. Hover over filter cards to view the name of the filter and the current filter values.

Alternatively, select All check box to select them all.

Undo filters Click the X on the filter card.
Date-based filters Some filters are dated-based and a calendar is used. For those types of filters, click the filter card to see the date picker, and select the dates. Use the operator buttons to refine the selection criteria. For example, select Greater Than from the field.
Embedded filters Some filters are embedded on a page. The filter cards for embedded filters work the same as for standard filters.

A Search bar is available so that you can find a value among several values.

Text field filters Some filters have text fields to specify partial text. Use the Contains operator. Always use the percent sign (%) as a wildcard in these fields.
Chart filters You can drag-select a part of a chart to visually filter to that level.

The chart, and any chart with the same filter, is updated to show the details. A filter card is displayed at the top. Delete the filter card to return to the previous view.
