Salesforce Extraction Prerequisites
The Birst Salesforce.com
extraction process uses the Force.com Web Services API to load data from
a Salesforce.com account to Birst.
In order to connect to your Salesforce.com account, Birst
requires permission to use this API on your account. The following instructions
describe how to add the Birst
IP addresses to the list of IP addresses that are allowed to access your
Salesforce.com account. If you do not have administration privileges,
ask your Salesforce.com administrator to follow the instructions below.
You need to follow these instructions if your Salesforce.com security
is IP-based. If the security is token-based, these steps are not necessary.
Refer to the Support Portal for the latest set of Birst
IP address ranges.
To add the IP range of the Birst
site to the list of IP addresses that are allowed to access your Salesforce.com
account

Log in to
your Salesforce.com account and click Setup (in the upper right). |

2.

Expand Security
Controls in the Administration Setup area on the left hand side and click
Network Access. |

3.
|
Click New
to add a new address to the list of allowed IP addresses. |

4.
|
Enter 70.42.130.0 in the Start IP Address
field and 70.42.130.255 in the
End IP Address field, then click Save. |

5.
|
Verify that
the Birst IP address
range appears in the list of allowed IP addresses. |
