Salesforce Connector
The Salesforce Connector extracts data from both standard and custom Salesforce data objects.
In addition to the connector features described in this section, Birst provides these other options for interacting with Salesforce:
- You can write directly to Salesforce.com objects using a Birst ETL script. See Writing Back to Salesforce.com.
- If you want to integrate Birst data and dashboards into Salesforce.com, see Integrating with Salesforce.com.
Implementation and Usage Notes
If the security for your Salesforce.com account is token-based, you will need to provide a Salesforce.com security token as part of your password. If the security for your Salesforce.com account is IP-based, see Salesforce Extraction Prerequisites for information on how to add the IP range of the Birst site to the list of IP addresses that are allowed to access your Salesforce.com account.
Performance may be degraded when extracting data from a branded Cloudforce URL. This is because Salesforce does not support compression and chunking during data extraction for branded Cloudforce URLs.
For general usage notes see Connect to Cloud Applications Using Application Connectors.
