Converting Original Dashboards to Dashboards 2.0
Birst can copy existing Original Dashboards to the new Dashboards 2.0 framework. The import operation handles a large part of the conversion.
The Import functionality:
Imports all public dashboards to which the user has access.
Creates the new dashboard collection and all dashboards.
Applies all folder security to the dashboard collections converted.
Converted pages will have all the dashlets placed in a similar layout. You many need to edit the new dashboards and dashlets. The following items will not be copied:
Prompts
Embedded prompts
Dashboard page properties
Dashlet properties (Title, Export options, Column and View Selector, Enable Prompts, View Mode, etc.)
Dashlet report schedules
Bookmarks
Sticky Notes
Global Properties
External Visualizations
Prior to importing
Birst performs a bulk convert of all dashboards it finds in your public folder. If you no longer need a dashboard, consider deleting it, to save time during import.
If you do a bulk import and later want to re-import an original dashboard, change its name. Dashboard names must be unique within a space.
To import original dashboards
1. | Go to the space containing the dashboards you want to import. |
2. | Go to Dashboards 2.0. |
3. | Click Dashboards. At the bottom of the Dashboards Collection list, Birst shows how many original dashboards it finds in the space. Tip: You must be the Space Owner or have Edit Dashboard privileges to see and import original dashboards. |
4. | Click Import. The time it takes to convert varies according to the number of dashboards. The newly-converted dashboards display in the list. Their names are appended with "_Imported". |
