Enabling, Ignoring, Emptying or Deleting a Source
You can enable, ignore, empty or delete a data source.
Note: This topic is for the Classic (Flash version) of Admin. See Managing a Source for more information on the HTML actions.
Important: For Advanced spaces, after uploading a data source to you need to enable the source. By default the source is set to Ignore in Advanced spaces. See Enabling Sources.
Ignored Sources
If a data source is set to Ignore, the data source will not be included during Process Data execution, thus data contained in the ignored data source cannot be accessed. When a data source is ignored, all prior relationships configured for the ignored source are canceled. If the ignored data source is the source for an ETL (scripted) data source, upon changing the status to Ignore Source, the ETL data source will no longer be valid.
Empty Sources
The Empty Source option truncates all the data from the data source although Birst maintains the structure of the table.
Deleted Sources
The Delete Source option permanently deletes the source from Birst. The database table and all the relationships defined with this source are deleted.
To change the status of a source
1. | Navigate to Admin > Define Sources > Data Flow. |
2. | In the Data
Flow page, right-click on a data source and select Ignore Source, Empty
Source or Delete Source. An ignored source is displayed in light grey. If you delete a source, it will be removed from the page. To re-enable a source, right-click on the source and select Enable Source. |
Tip: You can also change the status of a source on the Manage Sources page. Select a source in the Data Sources pane on the left, then click the gear icon and select Ignore Source, Empty Source or Delete Source.
