Child Warehouse Source to Parent Live Access Source

Important: This scenario is supported for Appliance spaces where the Live Access source is located on the same database instance as the Birst warehouse.

Tip: Starting with 5.20.4, for Live Access sources modeled in Manage Local Sources, in the child space use Manage Local Sources – Joins – Add Join to create a join between a child dimension and parent fact, and/or between a child fact and a parent dimension.

  1. Create the package in the parent space. Include the Data Flow Live Access data source in the package. See Creating a Package.
  2. Import the package to the child space. See Importing a Package.
  3. In the child space, go to Admin - Define Sources - Data Flow.
  4. Right-click on the warehouse dimension or fact in the child space and select Join to a Related Source.

  5. Drag-and-drop the line on the imported Live Access source.

Tip: If Birst does not allow a join, it may be because the data sources are on different database instances. Contact your Infor representative.
  6. Specify the join.

  7. All columns can be selected for the live access source. However, for the warehouse source only level key columns can be included in the join.

  8. Create your reports and dashboards using the blended data.
