Adding a Rectangle to a Classic Designer Report

You can add a rectangle to a Classic Designer report as a grouping or formatting element. For example, you could add a rectangle around a chart to add visual interest.

To add a rectangle to a Designer report

1. Open the Layout tab in Classic Designer.
2. Click the Add menu, then click Rectangle. A rectangle will appear on the canvas designated with an r: in the top left corner.
3. Drag the rectangle to position it the way you want.
4. To change the size and position of the rectangle, right-click the rectangle and select Size and Position. Change the settings in the Size and Position dialog box as desired then click Save.
5. To change other properties for the rectangle, such as the colors to use, right-click the rectangle and select Rectangle Properties. Change the settings you would like to use for the rectangle in the Rectangle Properties dialog box then click Save.
6. Click the Results tab to see how it looks in the report.
7. Click Save from the Report menu to save the changes to the report.
