Configuring OpenID or OpenID Connect

If you have an account with an OpenID provider, such as Yahoo!, Verisign, AOL, or MyOpenID, or an OpenID Connect provider such as Google, you can use the credentials associated with that account to log in to Birst.

Prerequisites for Using OpenID or OpenID Connect

To log in using OpenID or OpenID Connect, you must have:

An account with an OpenID or OpenID Connect provider

A Birst account that is associated with the OpenID provider account

To associate your user account with an OpenID provider account

  1. At the Birst Login screen, click on the name of an OpenID provider for which you have an account. If you are not already logged in to the provider, you will be redirected to the provider’s website and prompted to login.
In some cases you are presented with a place to log in to your provider directly from the Birst login page.
  2. Log in with the credentials for your provider. You will be redirected back to the Birst site.
  3. The Birst Login screen will display a message in red saying the OpenID is not associated with a Birst user.
  4. Copy the URL inside the parenthesis, then log in to Birst using your Birst credentials.
  5. Click your username at the top of the Birst Home page and select Settings from the menu. The User Settings page opens.
  6. Under OpenID Associations, paste the URL into the field and click Add. The association has now been established between this account and your Birst user account, enabling you to log in to Birst using the credentials from this account.
You can add as many OpenID associations as needed.
  7. You can test the association by logging out of Birst, then clicking the provider icon on the Birst login page. You should be automatically logged into Birst and see the Birst Home page.

To associate your user account with an OpenID Connect provider account

If your OpenID Connect provider account’s email address happens to be the same email address as your Birst account login, then they are automatically associated and it is not necessary to manually associate them.

Otherwise, contact your Infor representative to have your Birst user account associated with your OpenID Connect provider account.

Tip: You can remove associations by going to the User Settings page and clicking the Delete button next to the OpenID Association.
