Tab navigation
When you modify the accounting entity, the application automatically closes the unsaved tabs.
If an accounting entity is unassigned, the tab name includes U to indicate an unassigned entity.
When a new record is created from a page, the tab labels include the accounting entity.
When the accounting entity changes, the application closes unsaved tabs for new records. Tabs with saved records remain open.
Tab labels
Tab labels are derived from the translation key defined for the route. Labels are updated automatically when the application language is changed.
Tab behavior and state
The framework maintains the page state while tabs remain open. When a tab closes, the adjacent tab on the left becomes active. If all tabs are closed, the Welcome page is displayed.
Tabs that contain unsaved changes have a visual indicator and you must confirm if the data must be saved before closing the tab, to prevent data loss. The same validation is applicable when you select to close all tabs.
Wizard behavior
The Wizard-based workflows are displayed on a single tab throughout the process. When you move between wizard steps, the tab label and URL are updated. No additional tabs are created.
You can open only one wizard instance at a time. If you open another instance, the existing wizard tab is activated.
Tab management
You can use a context menu for tab management operations such as closing individual tabs, closing multiple tabs, and renaming tabs.
Limitations
The navigation framework has these limitations:
- A maximum of 15 tabs can be opened simultaneously.
Note: The Maximum number of tabs reached. Please close a tab before opening a new one. message is displayed when the maximum limit is reached.
- Only one unsaved new record tab is allowed per module.
- Only one instance of a wizard can be active at a time. If you start a second instance, the application switches to the existing wizard tab and displays a toast notification.
- The Welcome page does not open as a tab.
