Warehouse Containers
The Warehouse Containers page displays the container structure. You can edit the containers, fix errors, and you can reprint the labels.
The
functional area supports multiple levels of containers; for example, boxes with lids on pallets. This is represented by the container structure. The container structure can have more than two levels, including auxiliary packaging. Boxes, which are the innermost containers, can contain only homogeneous items. A pallet can contain boxes with different items.Example: A pallet contains five boxes with item A and two boxes with item B.
In this example, you print "single" labels for the boxes, and "master" labels for the pallets. Both labels contain the item number.
Assume the pallet includes boxes that contain item A and boxes that contain item B: In this scenario, the system changes the master label to the mixed label.
You can determine the level of aggregation in the master data of the trading partner. Thus, you can define that only outer containers like pallets are labeled with the information of all the boxes enclosed.
Line-side labeling defines a process in which container labels for finished parts are printed at the production line. The labels are printed using real-time data from the ERP system. The printing is carried out on demand when the containers are packed. For this purpose, the
area receives the packaging information from the ERP system as soon as the parts are finished. The packaging information includes the container structure according to the packaging definition.
