Comparing releases
On this page, you can compare the requirements of the previous and the current plans that have the same message type.
To compare the requirements of the previous and the current plans:
- Select Release Management > Plans. Or, for unprocessed plans, select Release Management > Unprocessed Plans.
- Click the Drill down button of an active plan.
- Click the Compare Release tab.

Review this information:
- Message Type
- The message type (such as Planning Schedule or Shipment Schedule) of the previous and the current plan.

Note: If desired, select a message type from the combined plan. This populates a list of previous versions with their processing dates of that plan type in the Version drop-down field in the Old Plan tab. After selecting a previous version of the single plan, the comparison is performed and the table is populated.Note: For an unprocessed plan, no message type selection is required because it is already a single plan.
- Message Subtype
- The message subtype of the previous and the current single plan.
- Release Comparison Status
- Release comparison successful. means that the system can perform a comparison of the previous and the current single plan. The required data is completely available. If required data of the previous and the current single plan is missing, an error message is displayed.

At the bottom of the Compare Release tab, review the requirements
of the previous and the current plan. The plans are listed in ascending order
sorted by requirement date:
- Line
- The line numbers of the requirements. The requirements of the previous and current plan are sorted by requirement date. Earlier requirements have lower line numbers.
- Requirement Date
- The requirement dates of the requirements.
- Old Quantity
- The requirement quantities of the previous plan.
- Old Released CUM
- The cumulative requirement quantities of the previous plan beginning with the start date.
- New Quantity
- The requirement quantities of the current plan.
- New Released CUM
- The cumulative requirement quantities of the current plan beginning with the start date.
- Released CUM Difference
- The difference between Old Released CUM and New Released CUM. You can view the differences between the two versions of the plan at first sight and understand the consequences for the supply process.
