Creating alert configurations
On the Alert Configurations page, you can create alert configurations.
To create an alert configuration:
- Select Alerts > Alert Configurations.
- Click Create.
-
Specify this information:
- Alert Identifier
- The field specifies the alert identifier that uniquely identifies an alert.
- Destination Type
- The field specifies the destination type of an alert message. When the destination type is set to Portal Alert, the message can be sent to the ION Pulse Engine so that the responsible user is informed in Infor OS Portal or Infor Ming.le.
- The System Alert destination type is for sending emails to System Administration of critical alerts.
- Accounting Entity
- The accounting entity is a corporation or a subset of a corporation. The accounting entity is independent in regard to one or more operational functions or accounting functions. An accounting entity produces a P&L and balance sheet from a complete, balanced set of transactions, and is often a legal entity. An accounting entity is defined within a tenant and can contain locations.
- Document Type
- The field specifies the document type that is associated with the alert.
- Alert Description
- The field shows the translated alert message text associated with the alert identifier.
-
On Alert
Groups, click Create and specify the name of the Distribution Group, which is the recipient
of the alert message.
Users who are assigned to this group receive the alert message in Infor OS Portal or Infor Ming.le. The distribution group and the user assignments must be defined in Infor OS Portal or Infor Ming.le.Note: The distribution group is required specifically for creating Portal Alerts.
-
In addition, in the Alert Groups
table, you can specify for the Distribution Group the name of a Trading Partner
Group as the recipient of the alert message.
Note: As a prerequisite, add new distribution groups according to the naming scheme of other groups in Infor OS Portal or Infor Ming.le; in addition, you must specify the trading partner name as a suffix to each distribution group name. As an example, the name in the Distribution Groupfield for the trading partner Nissan would be specified as AE_Transformation_Nissan.
You can specify multiple trading partners in the Trading Partner Group field for the same Distribution Group. To continue the same example, this Alert Groups table shows the first two rows for the
AE_Transformation_Nissan
distribution group with different assigned trading partner groups:
After an alert matches its trading partner to the configuration, this results in an alert being sent to only those subscribing to this trading partner distribution group.Distribution Group Trading Partner Group AE_Transformation_Nissan
