CUM Adjustment Rules
On the CUM Adjustment Rules page, you can create, edit, copy, and delete CUM adjustment rules.
A CUM adjustment rule configures how the cumulative quantities, shipped quantities and received quantities, from incoming release orders are handled. It controls how the in-transit quantity is calculated and it specifies the reference keys for referenced requirements. You can define a CUM adjustment rule for a customer, a ship to of a customer, a message type, and a message subtype. The trading partner determines how the requirements before the calculation date must be interpreted, for example, as cumulative quantity or as cumulated backorder.
These are the main configuration options:
- The calculation of the in-transit quantity is based on the received quantities: In-transit quantity = shipped cumulative quantities minus received cumulative quantities.
- The calculation of the in-transit quantity is based on the last confirmed packing slip. In this case the shipments are used to calculate the in-transit quantity. The quantities that are shipped after the last confirmed packing slip number are summed up to the in-transit quantity.
- The calculation is based on the shipments in the time horizon of the new single plan.
The last packing slip is determined by the last confirmed packing slip number. The settings for the CUM adjustment are valid for non-referenced schedules. Referenced schedules do not require a calculation of the in-transit quantity. A combination of reference key fields is used for referenced schedules to determine the shipped quantities and to reduce the required quantities. The reference key fields must be configured in the detail view of the CUM Adjustment Rules page.
If the trading partner does not send a CUM reset date, you can configure the date of the fiscal year. This is the date when cumulative quantities for a trading partner must be set to zero.
