Manage Sequential Call-Offs

On the Manage Sequential Call-Offs page, you can manually create, edit, copy, delete, and process sequential call-offs.

In the Release Management area, these sequencing workflows are supported:

  • Single-phase sequencing: In this workflow, only one sequence schedule is sent. This sequence schedule includes the entire item data, requirement and sequencing information. The sequence schedule is internally mapped to a shipment schedule. The processing for sequence schedules is then the same as for shipment schedules.
  • Multiple-phase sequencing: In this workflow, a sequence schedule that comes in contains the item data, the requirements, and their unique reference numbers. The sequence schedule receives the exception status Pending and is displayed on the Manage Unprocessed Plans page. The sequence schedule remains on the Manage Unprocessed Plans page until it is completed by the required sequencing data. The sequencing data determine the exact sequence and time of vehicles that are manufactured on the assembly line. Additional sequential call-offs that come in after contain the sequencing data for the requirements of the sequence schedule's order lines. These sequential call-offs are shown on the Manage Sequential Call-Offs page.

Release Management evaluates the appropriate sequence schedule order line that must be completed with the sequencing data on the Manage Unprocessed Plans page. The Sequence field of the sequential call-off and the 1. Reference Number field of the sequence schedule's order line are compared. If both reference numbers match, the sequencing data of the sequential call-off are copied into the plan fields of the sequence schedule's order line.

When the requirements of the order lines are completed with sequencing data, the sequence schedule is processed automatically and removed from the Manage Unprocessed Plans page.

Additionally, you can search for partly sequenced unprocessed plans and manually revalidate these plans on the Manage Unprocessed Plans page. A partly sequenced unprocessed plan is a sequence schedule that has at least one requirement in an order line completed with sequencing data. The other order lines are still not completed with sequencing data by a sequential call-off.

Note:

The multi-phase sequencing uses two different field mappings:

  • The mapping of the incoming item data and requirement data from a SequenceSchedule BOD to a pending sequence schedule that is shown on the Manage Unprocessed Plans page. The field mapping is assigned to the trading partner in the field Sequence Schedule Mapping on the Trading Partner Mappings page. If not defined, the field mapping is performed by the standard field mapping Standard Sequence Schedule.
  • The mapping of the incoming sequencing data from a SequenceSchedule BOD to a sequential call-off that is shown on the Sequential Call-Offs page. The field mapping is assigned to the trading partner in the field Sequential Call-Off Mapping on the Trading Partner Mappings page. If not defined, the field mapping is performed by the standard field mapping Standard Sequence Schedule CallOff.

You can edit incoming sequential call-offs on the Manage Sequential Call-Offs page until the associated sequence schedule on the Manage Unprocessed Plans page is processed. If required, you can correct the sequence schedule data after in the detail view of the Manage Shipment Schedules page.

Additionally, you can manually create and process a sequential call-off. Specify the sequencing data for a sequence schedule on the Manage Sequential Call-Offs page. The appropriate sequence schedule is then evaluated and the sequencing data are copied into the provided plan fields of the order lines.
